The Short Version
CG1 helps you take back the time your phone takes from you. It would be strange to do that by taking your data, so we don't. There is no CG1 server for your information to travel to.
What Stays On Your Device
CG1 stores the following on your iPhone so the app can work. None of it is transmitted to us:
- Your focus blocks: their names, icons, schedules, durations, and which of your own apps you chose to limit.
- Your session history, streaks, won days, and protected-time totals.
- Your emergency unlock balance and when you used one.
- Your onboarding answers, including your own estimate of your screen time.
- Purchase entitlement state and product identifiers received from Apple StoreKit.
Screen Time
CG1 uses Apple's Screen Time APIs (Family Controls, Managed Settings, Device Activity) for one purpose: shielding the apps you selected during a focus block you scheduled, on your own device.
Your actual screen-time numbers are handled by iOS inside a sandboxed system extension. By Apple's design, the CG1 app itself cannot read those numbers, cannot store them, and cannot send them anywhere. When you see a screen-time summary in CG1, iOS is drawing it — we never receive it.
CG1 is a self-managed app for adults. It is not built to monitor children, students, employees, or anyone else's device, and it holds no parent or guardian role.
Steps And Health Data
If you allow it, CG1 reads your daily step count from Apple Health to award an extra emergency unlock on days you walk 10,000 steps. This is read-only, happens entirely on your device, and is never transmitted. You can revoke it at any time in iOS Settings, and CG1 keeps working without it.
Payments
CG1 Plus and CG1 Max are handled through Apple In-App Purchase. Apple processes billing and manages subscriptions. We never see your payment details. You can manage or cancel from your Apple Account settings.
What Apple Sees
Apple may process App Store purchases, refunds, downloads, crash reports, and subscription management under Apple's own terms and privacy policy. That relationship is between you and Apple.
Support Requests
If you email us for support, we receive whatever you choose to send — your email address, your message, screenshots, device details. We use it only to answer you, and we don't add it to any list.
Your Choices
- Edit or delete any focus block, and your settings, inside the app.
- Delete the app to remove all local CG1 data. Purchase history remains managed by Apple.
- Revoke Screen Time, Health, or notification permissions in iOS Settings at any time.
- Write to contact@cg1.world with any privacy question.
Children
CG1 is built for adults choosing to limit their own phone use. It is not a child-monitoring, school-monitoring, or employer-monitoring product.
Changes
If CG1 ever adds accounts, cloud sync, analytics, or crash-reporting SDKs, we will update this policy and our App Store privacy answers before those changes ship.
